Sporting Recognition

The Commission has a responsibility to raise the profile of sport in Guernsey – here are a few of our objectives:

• Liaising with all parties that wish to develop sport in Guernsey and enhance sports tourism. Advising the Commission on actions that can be pursued to assist those parties.
• Organising the annual Sporting Achievement Awards, which provide an opportunity to recognise sporting achievement and sponsorship activity.
• Recognising past and present sporting excellence by Guernsey sports people in a Guernsey’s Sporting Heroes permanent exhibition at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre.
• Promoting greater recognition by the media and public of the Island’s sporting achievements.
