Sponsorship and Support

In order for the Commission to be successful in achieving its objectives, it is important that private sector sponsorship is secured to supplement funding received from the States of Guernsey. A by-product of raising the Commission’s profile in the Island is increasing opportunities for individual sports clubs to attain corporate sponsorship - this is something that the Commission would wish to encourage and support. The points below list the mandate of the Commission in this respect:

• Establishing networks with the business community, trust funds and amongst wealthy individuals who may be persuaded to support the work of the Commission through donations or sponsorship.
• Promoting the benefits of linking Commerce with Sport with appropriate initiatives and events.
• Organising an annual sponsor’s acknowledgement function specifically focused on promoting the work of the Commission.
