Our Patron
Sir Geoffrey Rowland, the Bailiff of Guernsey, is the Island’s senior judge, presiding officer of the States of Deliberation and the Island’s first citizen.
In his youth Sir Geoffrey was an accomplished forward in Guernsey’s most successful junior football team and as an athlete also represented Guernsey as a high jumper.
In addition to being a senior member of school football and athletics teams he also represented his school at cricket and hockey albeit with less distinction.
Sporting endeavour nowadays is limited to skiing enthusiastically, but with limited ability and as an avid spectator watching all sports from the touchline, a stand or an armchair.
Sir Geoffrey is Patron of the Guernsey Commonwealth Games Association, the Guernsey Football Association and the Guernsey Table Tennis Association.
