Funding Streams and Local Initiatives

A principal objective of the Guernsey Sports Commission is to ensure that funding for local sport is maintained and hopefully increased.  This can be achieved in a number of ways and involves working closely with local sporting bodies, Government and local businesses and individuals who are willing and able to provide financial and other support. 

The Commissioners have a firm belief that sport is an essential element of the local community for health and social reasons in addition to the achievement of sporting excellence.  The Commission therefore does not merely focus on elite sporting individuals or teams but embraces all participants.
