Born into the sport – her mother was Island Champion – Sally will go down in Guernsey sporting folklore for winning the All England Women’s Singles Championship in 1988. She played for England many times and won gold, silver and bronze medals at the 1982 Commonwealth Games and was third in the World Championships of 1983 in Copenhagen. Before all of this she won numerous national age group titles both in singles and doubles.

On her retirement from top class badminton she has been a huge influence on local badminton and won many medals at Island Games as well as a host of Island titles including ten times Island Closed champion and six times winner of the Guernsey Open.
