Guernsey Sporting Heroes - Bobby Eggo

Quite simply the Islands best ever golfer and the record books prove it. A Walker Cup team member alongside the likes of Colin Montgomerie in 1987, he also represented GB and Ireland against Europe and won many England amateur caps. On the tournament front he was one of the leading British amateurs for a number of years, landing the Brabazon trophy in 1986 and reaching the English Amateur final twice. Hampshire County champion twice, Guernsey Champion six times and CI holder on five occasions, he has managed to maintain incredible dedication within the amateur game. He has won every prestigious trophy with the L’Ancresse club before switching to the Royal Guernsey and achieving likewise.
